How does the trailer use media language to engage the audience?

All the children and students in this film trailer are all stereotypes in one way or another, most schools have what this school has, firstly the different types of students, the flirty ones, the rebellious ones, the lonely one. This trailer contains a lot of non-diagetic sound, this is done to set the party/fun atmosphere, by doing this it shows that the TV series is a fun, non series program.

How does the trailer represent young people?

The trailer creates a lot of representations of the young people during the trailer. Firstly the children are represented as well behaved children when they're in the assembly. Then you have the typical lonely child sitting by himself. Then when the class all runs in to the class room messing around, a whole different represenation is created. They're represented as bad students who just mess around non-stop. Then you have the sort of trouble maker in the red hat, causing arguements with the other students. All the students relate to the typical students in an everyday school. You're more than likely to find someone in a wheel chair, you're most likely to find a flirtly girl, a chav who causes arguements, and the typical lonely kid. They're all wearing the typical student uniform, which  is a blazer, tie and smart trousers or skirt. But some parts of this trailer you wouldn't really expect from a student/teacher relationship, for example when the boy slapped the teacher and said 'Snap out of it' this creates the funny side of the tv series.
